![]() After looping the game, special "golden" and "ultra" weapons become available. The weapons available to the player get increasingly advanced and powerful as the enemies become increasingly difficult and numerous. The player can have two weapons equipped at any time, such as a shovel and an assault rifle. The player starts with the basic revolver, but they may upgrade by taking weapons from red chests and collect more ammunition from yellow chests. Upon reaching level 10, the player can choose a character-specific "ultra-mutation". The game has a leveling system, where the player gains experience in the form of radiation pellets, or "rads", dropped by enemies, that allow them to get different mutations and choose what would benefit the character the most out of a selection of four, randomly selected mutations. Except for special weapons acquired in a hidden level and "crowns" retained until after defeating the final boss, anything acquired in one playthrough does not carry over to the next. The user may continue looping indefinitely until death. After this, the player may choose to loop to the beginning of the game again with a greatly increased difficulty. The player progresses through the linear level structure until level 7–3, where the final boss, the Nuclear Throne, has to be defeated. Secondary sprites or skins can be acquired for the characters played if the player completes special or secret tasks. These individual abilities allow for different play-styles, improving the variety and replay value of the game. Each character has an ability unique to them, adding an additional element to the gameplay. Two additional secret characters can only be played under special circumstances during play. The player controls one of a total of 12 characters, 10 of which must be unlocked through play. There are also daily and weekly challenge modes, allowing the player to compete against others via the Steam platform for the best score (determined by the number of kills in the playthrough), on the same set of randomly generated levels. The game consists of two main game modes: single-player, and a local cooperative gameplay mode. Nuclear Throne is a top-down shooter roguelike game with bullet hell elements. Nuclear Throne was released for Linux, Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in December 2015, for Nintendo Switch in March 2019, and for Xbox One in September 2021. Early prototypes of the game were distributed through Steam's early access program in 2013. Nuclear Throne is a bullet hell roguelike video game developed by Vlambeer. Areas like yvs mansion and the jungle skip 1 level they just replace another level. Every level increases the difficulty by 1, but since these are extra levels that dont skip any other, they are like free difficulty increaases. The pizza rat dungeon also increases the difficulty, so do the crown vaults. So you can find a cursed assault slugger (or higher, if im not understanding the chart well) in level 1-1. Robot finds better weapons (weapons from one difficulty above) and cursed weapons are weapons from ahead in the game (weapons from 2 difficulties above). Robot, Crown of curses, pizza rat dungeon, crown vaults. Venuz already has higher dps, and this is kinda overkill, but I love it. Stress, Ima Gun God, and Trigger Fingers. This isnt a build, per se, but just necessary thing to have for her. If you are gonna have rhino skin, id choose riot. They includ : throne butt, bloodlust, second stomach, sharp teeth (not necessary), rabbit paw (allie drops), rhino skin(not necessary), and stress (low health character). Rebel is strange, in the way that you need the exact same group of mutations for her to work. Crystal with this build is kind of overkill, to be honest. Rebel is a low health character, so these mutations will fix that. If you have rhino skin, regenerating hp (and getting your strong spirit back) will be harder, because theres more health to regenerate. It makes it so that health pickups heal 5 hp. ![]() ![]() Second stomach's active combines well with crown of haste. Hearty and healthy (second stomach, bloodlust, rhino skin, strong spirit, crown of haste) Plutonium hunger somewhat counteracts crown of haste, by picking up the drops before they fade away. Fish gets more ammo, so more ammo drops and being able to hold it all is good. Robot also eats guns for ammo, so you can hold more. Steroids and venuz both use a lot of ammo, and robot gets better (aka more ammo draining) weapons earlier. I reccommend this for steroids, yung venuz, and robot. This is basically for when you need to conserve ammo and get ammo. We Need Ammo (back muscle, rabbit paw, plutonium hunger, second stomach, recycle gland, crown of haste) For synergies, you dont need every mutations in these synergies, you can just choose 2.
